Club New Orleans News

Fall is here, the cool weather has arrived and hopefully this will keep those hurricanes away! Thanks to those brave souls who dared to venture into New Orleans after Hurricane Isaac to make a little bit of Southern Decadence happen.  Many parts of the city were without power for most of Labor Day weekend and it was a struggle for all of us.  The spirit of Decadence may have been a little drenched from all the rain but was very much alive.

Our sundeck sustained damage from Isaac and was closed for a few days, but it is back up and running now. The sundeck is open year round for your enjoyment. Come on out and join our regular "brown bun brigade" who love to bake every day.

Fall is full of fun events in New Orleans starting with the 17th annual Gretna Heritage Festival October 5-7 featuring 7 stages with performances by international entertainers as well as local Louisiana favorites.  Headliners include Joe Cocker, Foreigner, and The Temptations! The festival encompasses 25 city blocks with a huge craft fair and food booths featuring something for everyone.  Take the free pedestrian ferry at Canal Street, just five blocks from The Club.  For details check out www.gretnafest.com .

New Orleans has been named a premier Halloween destination by Travel and Leisure magazine and Halloween 29 will certainly live up to that honor!  This year's theme is "Monster Brawl" and will be held October 25-28.  Start your weekend off with the Lazarus Ball on Thursday at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and then attend the South's most extravagant costume party on Saturday night at 900 Camp Street.  Costumes are required.  This event has raised over $4.5 million  for AIDS services.  Check out www.halloweenneworleans.com for a complete schedule of events.
